Happy Valentines's Day!!! And other news...
I'm making with the dinner and the romance and the flowers and whatnot, so the strip will be late this week.
In the meantime, take a gander at a little side project I've gotten involved in.

I'll explain what this is about later. It's fun!!
I'm also still trying to get that Afterworks story done. I'll be previewing the first few pages here.
See ya!

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day to you & Sara! http://forthebirdsblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/happy-valentines-day.html
I checked out the link. I'm guessing that you're in a band now? Nice!

Hey Michael!!!
Here is the deal, and I will elaborate later.
There is a long running rivalry between the animation department and the story department. Every now and then, we must meet on the field of battle to decide who is the superior department. Past contests include The Sci-Fi spelling bee and Dodge Ball. This time?
It is a Battle of the Bands!! Story vs Animation! Each band must play 3 cover songs before a panel of impartial judges. The mighty Mark Andrews (Mandrews) threw down the gauntlet and then gathered us together. It's fun! I've never been in a band before. It's creatively sttimulating!!! I highly recommend it!

This battle sounds like it's gonna be pretty epic. Can you reveal what songs you're doing, or are you keepin' it all hush-hush until the main event?

I can't reveal the songs yet. I can say that the criteria was that they had to move along at 150 bpm or more to insure that they would rock and rock hard. It's fun to see your freinds do things you didn't know they could do. Mandrews is an incredibly gifted drummer. Scott Morse kills on vocals. Brian and Max are incredible guitar players. Who knew Cooley could rock the stand up bass? Or that Larsen could pay trumpet?
Me? I just try to keep up and stay in the pocket.
I can say that the setlist is comprised of a little classic rock, a little new punk, and a little new rock. It's all fun to play.

Nice one John! Sounds like a lot of fun. How long you been playing bass? I used to play in band up until the end of my Uni days but then we all chose money and jobs over "the band"! Fun memories though :)
